Travelling near Delhi

Hi everyone, I'm going to Delhi for 10 days and wanted to do the usual tourism things and the religion and historic side of it all. I've been researching quite a lot into other places to go just for two nights to experience some of the real culture in India but I can't find any proper information on anywhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm fairly open minded and up for a rubbish hostel :) haha

Just read your guidebooks which are basically middle-of-the-road consensus opinion - you'll get plenty of subjective views on this site - but you cant do much in 10 dys - just stick to the normal route ie DEL - AGR - FS - Jaipur or Udaipur or Pushkar. - you choose.

along with Delhi you can go to Agra to see Tajmahal, fatehpur sikri and you can also go to Jaipur in Rajasthan to see lots of forts and palaces, lots of colorful shopping with tasty food.

Missed India Gate.
If interested, also try Railway Museuem and Natural History museum. If you understand Hindi, you may also attend some theater. It's good

If you want couple of nights out of Delhi then Agra is the obvious option. Its only a few hours away and the Taj is one of those things you should see. If you take a taxi (surprisingly cheap) its easy to include Fatapur Sikri and the Kaleodo Bird bark on your trip. Alternatively there a regular fast trains to Agra.

Enjoy Delhi, its not everybodies favourite town but I like it. get youryelf a Metro Pass and just sort of zoom around. I particularly recommend getting lost in the alleys of the old town.
