Looking for a travel buddy for Austrailia

My name is Daniel im 29, and im from Jersey. Channel Islands.

im looking to travel Australia starting mid September maybe dates not yet set in stone i have my 1year whv. I’m travelling alone which is a bit daunting so if there is anyone else out there who is in the same boat get in touch and maybe we can discuss travelling together or meeting up somewhere.

im thinking of starting my travels in Melbourne as i loved it when i was there on a shorter trip, i want to get my 3 months agricultural work out the way asap as im pretty sure i will want to stay a second year so if you have a similar plan get in touch.

im a mellow guy i like surfing yoga lots of sports generally outdoor stuff hence the move! ive also just qualified as a personal trainer so if you want to travel and stay in shape im your man :)

If your keen send me a message and we can exchange

Daniel, its much more practical to come solo and when staying in hostels etc you will quickly find other people doing the same. You can do things for a few days or longer, and people can see what a fit hip guy you are. :)

Haha thank you, a few friends have said similar things to me it’s just a bit daunting rocking up on the other side of the planet with no solid plan. But I guess it’s got to be done.

Daniel - you'll be fine! Lots of people go solo and quickly meet people in exactly the same situation and have a blast and don't ever want to come home again. A male friend of mine went to Oz for six weeks on his own starting in Sydney and heading up to Port Douglas and he said from the first night there he never bought himself a drink, and Aussies were queuing up to buy him drinks and chat with him....and he isn't even the most outgoing or chatty of people. if your planning on staying in budget accomodation e.g. backpacking hostels you will easily meet lots of people in same situation and quickly find people to go out exploring and having fun with.

Nerves are pretty normal at this point I think, but I'm sure you will be looking back in a few months time wondering what you were ever worried about ;-)

Hi Daniel

I'm going to be in the same postiion... heading to Melbourne from Leeds in early October! Also looking to do the agricultural work ASAP to secure a possible second year - although thinking in heading to Tasmania for this around November...

If you want to talk etc, send me a message.

Phil
