Travel after recovering from illness
Hi everyone just looking for some advice on where to travel. I guess I will start with some background info, I'm female in my late 20s the past 2 years I have been very ill I have spent that time either at home or in the hospital. This last year was the worst, most of it I spent at home as I was too ill to leave my bed.I feel I need a change of scenery I just want to go somewhere to recuperate for a few months. I think it will also help me get some of my independence back as I relied on family for all that time.
I'm not sure where I should go (not europe) I was thinking somewhere in Asia. I'm still pretty weak and get tired easily (no other heatlh worries) maybe just outside of a city that is not too cut off but still is quiet and peaceful. Also my budget is not that big £6000. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wont be going for another few months but I would like to start planning.
Thank you

How about New Zealand? I know its commonly known as being big on adventure and outdoor activities but it also has a laid back attitude, plenty of clean air and beautiful scenery and friendly people.I saw this article about Michael Crawford who was diagnosed with ME who said it helped restore his health. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2113684/Michael-Crawford-Moving-New-Zealand-restored-stars-health.html
Probably not as cheap as Asia though. A chilled out beach holiday in Thailand/indonesia would be great if you could avoid the too touristy areas and your ok with the heat. I was diagnosed with ME 10 years ago, so I emphathise with the feeling of being weak and tired alot. Whatever you decide, take things at your own pace, factor in plenty of rest periods and take care of yourself xxx

Thank you so much for the replies, I never thought about going to Indonesia. New Zealand does look beautiful but i think sadly out of my budget.4
Thailand is the simplest to travel to/in within SE Asia, you will not be far from all the facilities you might need.Dave
