Tour mainly south India - Nov 2012
Dear all,We are attending a wedding in November in South India, and want to see some parts of India in the mean time. We are mainly interested in nature and wildlife, but also some culture. I was thinking about this tour:
16 Nov: Arrive in Delhi - train to Agra
17 Nov: 1 night in Agra to see Taj Mahal in sunset – sunrise
18 Nov: Ranthambore NP
19 Nov: Ranthambore NP
20 Nov: Ranthambore NP
21 Nov: Keoladeo Ghana NP
22 Nov: Fly from Delhi to Madurai? – see big temple in Madurai
23 Nov: Alleppey
24 Nov: Kochi - Coimbatore
25 Nov: Coimbatore wedding
26 Nov: Coimbatore wedding
27 Nov: Nilgiri Biosphere park
28 Nov: Nilgiri Biosphere park
29 Nov: Mysore
30 Nov: beach Kerala
1 Dec: beach Kerala
2 Dec: beach Goa
3 Dec: beach Goa
4 Dec: Train to (Konkan railway) Mumbai? how many hours does that take? are their night trains?
5 Dec: Fly out of Mumbai?
Any thought, suggestions? Is it a good idea to spend 2-3 days in the national parks? I have also read about Periyar, but it sounds more like a funpark then a national park?
Thanks for any feedback!

Periyar, but it sounds more like a funpark
It's a wildlife reserve, how in the world did you get the impression it's a funpark? The main question for me when I look at this itinerary is how you figure on getting from place to place, and what you figure on doing at the places once you subtract the travel time to get there.

This is what made me think it is more a funpark: Link Namehttp://www.lonelyplanet.com/india/kerala/periyar-wildlife-sanctuaryFurtermore I have the feeling that there are going to tons of tourists, scaring the animals away;
Way to travel would be car with driver, as said we are not so much interested in culture, so that's why I did not reserve that much time in some cities.

Hello, I am looking for a "package" of a week to spend in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Does anyone have good recommendations? I will be travelling on my own and would like to find a company that could arrange a pick-up from the airport etc.. I don't mind joining a small group during the week.Thank you
