Old vs New Passport

Hi everyone,
I'm now waiting for my new passport, here in Manila. I'm concerned about my valid visa extension being in the old one (which I will get back with the new one). What should I do...? a) Go to the immigration first and get a new visa in my new passport or b) just go to the airport showing both...? (And play dummy!)
As soon as I get my passports (both) I'm flying to Vietnam (with visa on arrival). I'm just trying to play safe and not be delay at the airport....
Tanks for helping.

I assume you have a valid in date visa but in an expired passport? Think you should be OK just show both when you leave and explain the situation, they will just stamp your exit date in the old passport..

Yes nothing to worry. Two years ago i had my passport renewed but my US visa is in the old one. Just attach the old passport and everything will be fine.

No, not necessary.

or b) just go to the airport showing both...?

Yes, but you don't have to "play dummy".
I've done this many times in a few different countries. I have to show the visa in my expired passport, but my current/valid passport always gets stamped.

As others have said, no problem with this situation. We have done this twice before when leaving the Philippines and had no problems.

You hand over your new passport and old passport together, explain to the Immigration Officer you have a new passport. He or she will check your old passport with the entry stamp and will then put the exit stamp in your new passport with a note next to it explaining the entry stamp is in previous passport with number ******.

Simple.

I have my new-ish and old passport together. They refer to my old one for reference to previous travels (and visa).
