Phuket

Hey Guys

Iam travelling to phuket on september 17th for a week before hitting auatralia, just looking at the reviews of the place and it looks pretty wild. Just wondering realy if any one has been there and could tell me what to expect in september, is it busy? what like is the weather? any recommendations of what tours to do?. Also I am travelling alone if any one would like to meet up for a beer with a young highlander let me know.

cheers GG

It'll be very quiet. That's the low season and pretty much the height of the monsoon season. It'll be wet. Patong will be OK, but some of the smaller beach towns just about close up until November or so.

patong beach is always crowded ! good to meet up pple around that area ! a lot of bars/clubs/restaurants
.... if you are looking for quieter places , head to other beaches !
weather -will be rainy season !
the phi phi island tour is good , couple of hours boat trip from phuket and some water sports activities are available ......

No dangers as such, but just use common sense as to not to get into trouble ... like any other tourist places and tourist traps....
Patong is a happening place ! you will have a great time ,especially the surrounding areas of the beach ... shops, restaurants, massages, clubs, tour agents ,money exchangers , a lot of hotels , bike rentals ,etc
If it doesnt rain , its like tropical beach weather - little on warmer side !

I've been there in September before and there will be people around, prices will be down and while it will rain it will be for an hour here and there but its not a huge deal. When you say it looks wild that is obviously Patong Beach but you can find places elsewhere that are quieter.
Go to Phi Phi Island and maybe stay there a night or two.

Hi GG!
I will be Thailand for 12 days from Sept 8th. I fly into Phuket, and am thinking of staying there for a night or two, then maybe go to Phi Phi Island for a few days. I am travelling alone and could meet up for a pint if you like. I am on my way home to Ireland after living in Australia (mainly Melbourne) for 2 years.
Best of luck!
