Yes – There are now teahouses on the Upper Mustang route – These are Very Basic and few and far between, but it is now just about possible to trek to and back from Lo Manthang as a teahouse trek, although you might still be advised to carry a tent and a little extra food just in case !!Why was it “Interesting “ – Maybe reading the trek report and viewing the pics will give you the Best Idea :-)
Best Regards

Hi NinaI trekked the Arun Valley route this year using lodges and homestays, manaslucircuittrek.com gives lodge details and recent blogs and trip reports state camping is not neede for the other two.
Some information on the net can be out of date and agencies might tend to steer people towards camlping because it is more profitable.
To experience more authentic culture a trade off between western-style comfort is required. Of the 3 main areas Langtang/Gosainkund/Helambu offers the better mix of culture and trekking infrastructure. They can be connected and Helambu has a mix of cultures while Langtang is solidly Tamang.

well lots of beautiful advices are already present in the forum.i would say October is really very good time to do trekking and cultural tour.the best part of cultural tour can be experienced Around Kathmandu valley hiking tour starting from Shivapuri to Chisapani and sundarijal.Same tour can be continue to Sankhu from Sundarijal and from Sankhu to Nagarkot and then after, from Nagarkot to Nala, Panauti and finally to Namobudhha.Another option after that is come back to bhaktapur again and start another hiking to suburbs of Patan. It can be stated from from bhaktapur -Gundu-Lakure Bhanjyang -Godavari park-khokna -Bungamati village. In this way spending about 8 days to 9days in around Kathmandu valley hiking gives historical, social and cultural glimpse of this area.In October there is also chance to see people engaging cutting the ripe paddy and alsofestival time if your time will match exactly.there is DASHAIN FESTIVAL and DEEPWALI(festival of lights).
however if you can finish this trek then you can do other trek in Annapurna area there are cultural trek like Ghandruk trek,Ghale gaun trek,Sikles trek,Bhujung trek in pokhara.
after that if you can also do chitwan and lumbani will be very nice to see nepal in different colors.

Hi,thank you very much for your anser.
Sccodly, you say Langtang/Gosainkundu/Helambu is the best mix of hiking and trekking infrastructure.
What about the spectacular landscpae. Reading my guide book, I`m not sure if this area can match with the landscape of Annapurna and Everest area ? And on this trekk I can`t experience the altidutef of the Himalaya.
Why is this area less crowded like Annapurna and Everst although it is closer to Kathamdu ?
What is your meaning to the Annapurna Circuit which is going over the high pass ?
Is it commercial ? How is the cultural experience ?
The intersting thing for me at the Annapruna Circuit is that you can visit the lower Mustang area.
As the guide book say it gives you an idea of the tibetan livestyle.
I don`t know if it can compare to the Mustang trekk. It seems for me very interesting.
I really think if we should do this, too...

HiEverest and Annapurna are rightly famous but I do think Langtang is unfairly compared:
The best views of E are from KP and Thorung La gives the best panorama while guidebooks might talk about the view from Langtang valley floor. However ther are a number of permit-free peaks where great views are available; given the same time on each trek (e.g. 14 days) Langtang delivers more (I dare to say).
Why is it less popular? 2 day long road trips, no flights...dunno really but it deserves to be more popular on its merits.
Thorung La is the highest point of the trek and the hardest day.
Yes the AC is commercial - it's a very popular trek but one can still experience local culture.
Lots of info about Manaslu on the link above.

Hi Scoodly, thank you for your answer.
Langtang/Helambu sounds nice. I didn`t decide yet, but Manuslu seems to be very interesting. For me it sounds like it`s still develping, but you have already the comfort of teahouses. Perhaps it`s not original like other trekks in the east or west, but not crowded ? Dit you already trekk it ? How is thu cultural experience ? Would it be necessary to book this trekk in advance oder can we do it in Kathamdu ? Are the accomodations limited on this trekk ?
Thanks
Nina
