advice for 5 week trip of thailand, cambodia, vietnam and laos
Hi there,Me and my brother (reasonable experienced travellers) have booked flights in and out of bangkok during November and December and will be there for 5 weeks. We have come up with the following rough plan of our trip (each places amount of nights includes the travel time to get there from my estimation). Is this possible? Any changes anyone would reccommend? any help would be amazing!
Arrive Bangkok - 1 night
Pattaya - 3 nights
Siem Reap - 3 nights
Phom Penh - 3 nights
Ho chi min city - 4 nights
Nha Trang - 2 nights
Hue - 2 nights
Savanhaket - 1 night
Vientiane - 2 nights
Van Vieng - 2 nights
Luang Prabang - 3 nights
Chiang Rai - 3 nights
Chiang mai - 3 nights
Bangkok - 3 nights
Were both quite similar that its our first time to Asia and are keen to see some of the main sites and also get amongst some good food/nights out.
At this stage we are thinking of doing this trip by bus/train.
Any help at all would be appreciated
Thanks,
Travis

Pattaya really is the pits...Nha Tang, Vang vieng and Chang mai could also be left out....all imo of course5
Hue is definitely worth a visit. The citadel, a few tombs, pagodas, great food and friendly people. If you have to stay a night in Savannakhet, good food along the river and wifi at Leena Guesthouse. i love Savannakhet. It's very relaxed.I would avoid Pattaya. Hua Hin might be better. Kanchanaburi is nice too. Pattaya is sin city for a reason.... If you like parties and drunk foreigners doing silly things, then Vang Vieng and Nha Trang are for you. I did actually enjoy Mama Hanh's cruise in Nha Trang. You have a floating bar, a fun group of hosts and plenty of water sports.
Hope that helps:)
