1 Month Argentina November book hotels and tours in advance?
Hi all,From November 2nd to December 1st my wife and I will be staying in Argentina and Uruguay.
We were wondering if we should book hotels and tours in advance?
Since we have already made reservations for domestic flights within Patagonia, we will have a maximum amount of days for the different cities.
Our itinerary is as follows:
- Rio de Janeiro (Brazil): 4 full days
- Ushuaia: 2 full days (tours Beagle channel, Tierra del Fuego)
- El Calafate: 3 full days (tours Perito Moreno, Glaciar Tour Upsala)
- Puerto Madryn/Trelew: 4 full days (Punta Tombo, Peninsula Valdes)
- The rest of our journey (10 full days) we will have time to spend in Buenos Aires, Sacramento del Colonial(Uruguay), Montevideo (Uruguay).
1) Do we need to book hotels and tours in advance for november?
2) Is it recommended to visit El Chaltén during our stay in El Calafate?
3) Does anyone have recommendations for our last 10 full days besides BA, Colonial and Montevideo?
Thanks in advance for your reactions.
Greetz

It depends on your interests but I would go to El Chalten for the amazing daytreks there and also spend 1 or 2 days more in Ushuaia. You don´t need to book tours in advance except maybe a very specific one. Most tours can be easily booed on the spot in each place.
Accomodation is more complicated. El Chalten should be well booked in advance. Ushuaia, Puerto Madryn and El Calafate offer a lot of all kind but the best deals might no be avaible. You will always find something but could be less good value or more expensive.
In Puerto Madryn, you could stay at Punta Piramides at the Peninsula which is a nice place. 4 days is quite a long time for this place even including Punta Tombo. There is a penguin colony close to Ushuaia in very nice surroundings along the Beagle channel close to Estancia Harberton
