Nova Scotia , Montreal and Quebec in two weeks reasonable?
Originally planning leaf-peeping, we will now have to forgo that to fit in with work and flight availability. Probably leave end of August from the UK.Can we fit in Quebec and Montreal in a fortnight with Nova Scotia or should we just stick to NS?
We like museums, and plan to visit the Greenwood Aviation Museum and the new memorial to those WW2 airmen who were killed in training over the Bay of Fundy. We also enjoy hiking and photography and want to do a few half-day hikes. Can we fit in Kejimkujik, Cape Split and some walking on the Cabot Trail?
Current plan is to fly in and out of Halifax, spend a couple of nights there, one night in Lunenberg, one night in Kejimkujik?, then Annapolis Royal, visit Digby and then across to Greenwood. It looks as though we won't have time to go to the Fundy National park as well as the Cabot, so is there anywhere we could see something like Hopewell rocks on the Cape Split side? Any suggestions of where to base ourselves in the Annapolis Valley?
On Cape Breton we would like to do some hiking, follow the Cabot Trail and also spend a day at Louisbourg, also need suggestions of a good base or touring stops here.
We'd like to see Motreal and Quebec City as well, but can we fit it all in in fourteen days?
If we can get enough time off work we might be able to do an 18 day trip, in which case we could go by rail to Montreal to see it and Quebec city and fly out from there. Or should we just leave Quebec for another trip?
Love to hear any suggestions of hiking trails, canoe trips, sights and B&Bs/Hotels/motels
Thanks
Nic

Unless you want to drive 700 miles a day Halifax and Montreal are at least two days apart. That would use up four days out of 14---too much! Stick to Atlantic Canada. It would be easy to ferry from Digby, NS to Saint Jihn, NB and then catch Fundy Natl. Park on the way back towards Cape Breton. Could also work in Prince Edward Island without much trouble.

Forgot to say that the plan was never to drive to Montreal, but get the overnight train, then fly back to Uk from there. But will look into the ferry options. ThanksADVERTISEMENT
