internet agency for russian visa invitation
HiI went last to Russia in 2006. Then, I used an internet agency to receive an invitation for my Russia visa.
I have quickly searched the Thorntree and the internet in general for information on this, and everyone seems to use hotels now, is that correct? Otherwise, please, which is the most reliable internet agency that provides invitations for Russia and how long does the issuing of such an invitation generally take?
I think I remember it taking a month.
I am a german national living in the Netherlands, but not officially registered here. Will the consulate in The Hangue accept my application ?

No people still use online agencies for visa invitations, in fact they are better because they are much more flexible than those provided by hotels. As a German passport holder you should have no problem applying in any other schengen member state, but you will need medical insurance valid in Russia. You can use Real Russia for your invitation, just go to their website left-hand side of the main page you'll see visa invitation. Complete the online form, but allow yourself a few days either side of actual planed dates for visiting Russia. It'll cost about €20 and you will have your invitation emailed to you usually in less than an hour. Print it off and submit it with the rest of your application.

I have just received one within a day from www.gotorussia.com it cost me $20 (US). I sent it to the Canadian visa agency who is processing my visa and they accepted it. I asked the hotel in St. Petersburg we had booked with for one, but they could only send me one for the 4 days I had booked with them and I wanted 30 days. I listed the places I would travel to and the bookings I had made in St. Petersburg and Moscow when I applied for the invitation letter.
