Traveling to South east Asia for 10 weeksHi, myself and my boyfriend ate heading to South East Asis in August for ten weeks starting off in HongKong. We plan on spending a day or two in Macau and then heading over to Bangkok to travel through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and maybe one other place before we head to Australia. I would be very grateful If anyone could give me some tips on areas we should definitely visit and what's the best route we should take? :)

1Assuming you spend a week in Hong Kong/Macau and then fly to Bangkok from there I'd suggest you head north towards Chiang Mai over to Northern Laos, into Northern Vietnam then down to Southern Vietnam, over to Cambodia and back to Bangkok. I doubt you'll really have time for anything else, if you skip a couple places along the way you may have time to head down to S. Thailand to the beach for a few days (or you could make a stop in Chiang Kong).

2I'd suggest you buy and read (or do some online research) a guidebook on SEA. You say nothing about your interests so how do you expect anyone to suggest anywhere? If I suggest visiting a button museum as a must, how would that help you?
The TT is not a travel agency where they assume everyone is interested in going to the same tourist hot spots as everyone else with no real reason for going other than everyone else goes. You decide where you want to go and WHY and then ask questions for which YOU cannot easily find the answers yourself.

3Here's a bit of a fast paced itinerary recommendation:
1 week in HK/ Macau
2.5 wks Thailand- so many popular tourist spots
1 wk Laos
1 wk Cambodia
2 wks Vietnam- Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Halong. I did not think HCMC is that great
2.5 wks Philippines- Cordillera, Palawan
There's a couple of budget airlines going from Hanoi to Philippines. SE Asia is awesome! Enjoy!

4Hi folks thanks for the feedback,
@travelinstyle46.. It would have probably took less amount of time to write a nice, helpful reply than a stupid, smart comment (why bother writing anything at all ?)
For the record were a 23 yr old couple its our first time travelling this far. We like seeing sights and venturing off the beaten path but aren't the type that would spend hours wandering around museums and art galleries (my boyfriend hasnt the patience) WE LIKE TO HAVE FUN e.g Macau Tower bungee jump :-)
Would 10 weeks realistically be enough to see Hong Kong, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand? If not which 1 has least things to do and should we leave out??
We have a one way ticket to Hong Kong and plan on staying there for about 4 days then head to thailand, basically all we have set in stone so far is to go Vieng Vieng (tubing) for a week then at the end chill in Southern Thailand for a couple of weeks Island hoping, the 7 weeks in between need to be filled.
What do you great people suggest we go, visit, see, stay ? (We are a stereotypical 23yr old couple who like to have FUN, meet great people, see breathtaking sights and collect priceless memories)
Thanks in advance.
