Property Caretaking Jobs?

So a friend and I are heading to Canada (from Australia) in September and we're hoping to find some work looking after a site for the winter. Just general maintenance, upkeep - keeping things running. We have a few places like this in Aus and we've heard they're pretty common jobs in Canada, especially the further north you head. Only problem is we've been searching and searching and we're struggling to find anything.

Anyone have any ideas where/how/what we should doing/looking for? The kinds of properties that need these kind of workers?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Cheers,

Pelumis

Property maintenance is much busier in the summer (April to Sept) than in the winter when there is just snow to shovel.
