Revised itin, what do you think?Hello Everyone,
Thank you all soooo much for all the feedback and suggestions for our original itin. We came up with an alternate itinerary and would love your thoughts. I have also included a list of some of the places we were thinking about visiting. I have been checking out hotels, B and B’s and guest houses in the various places. It is so wonderful to hear everyone’s thoughts and about your Ireland trips. My husband and I are so excited. It is so hard to decide where to visit. We know this will be the first of several trips to Ireland. We want to see a lot but not be so rushed as not to experience each town and get to know Ireland and the people. Thank you again for all your help. We appreciate it!
July 11 – Arrive Dublin
July 11/12 - Dublin for 2 nights
Are we hitting the highlights? Anything we should add or omit?

--Trinity College / Book of Kells
--St. Stephen’s Green / Merrion Sq. / Grafton St. / Temple Bar
--Literary Pub Crawl: Is this worth doing?
--Are there any particular pubs you would recommend?

--Is Waterford worth visiting?

Many recommend Kenmare over Killarney. Is Killarney too busy?

July 18/19 – County Clare
Doolin – 2 nights OR Doolin - 1 night /Ennis – 1 night

1hi there. Picking a few topics from your query. slea head is a must when in Dingle. Travel either way to dingle inch beach and return over the connor pass. slea head is only 15/20 min drive. call into the blasket island centre when at slea head. gives you an interesting insight in to the blasket islands that you are looking out on. The skellig rock is an absoloute must . Boats depart from portmagee pier at around 10am. 1 hour out and 2.5 hours on island. It is something that you will not get anywere else in Ireland. It is stunning and the boat stops off to view the gannet colony. Over 20, 000. beautiful sight. looks white from a distance. nice smell too when you get close, hence the white!! Booking is essential. I have not got a number to hand but one is Jo Roddy who you can contact. will post his number when I get it for you. Killarney is busy but not to put you off. plenty of accomodation and great town to walk around. Right next to the town park. Visit Muckross House and gardens and Muckross farms. Torc waterfall is less that a couple of minutes drive from the main gate as you travel out from Killarney towards Kenmare. Kenmare is also a beautiful town, right near the sea. only 20 min drive is the Stunning village of Sneem. you will pass this on the ring of kerry. stop off to admire the different monuments given to the village to remember its late President of Ireland who is burried in the local garveyard. Look for the marble panda from china. metel tree from isreal. the piramids that are down near the church by the river. yes we have piramids in Ireland two. also a monument to the late french president and our own local here. Steve"the crusher" Casey. More on him when you get there. Sneem, Kenmare and Killarney all have won the best, tidy town award in that order over the years. Something all towns try to win. Had my first visit to the aran Islands myself this may. Really beautiful, so too was the weather 82F. Dont know how that happened, but lucky me. So that added to the experience, Hired a bike for the day, but there is also bus tours of the island waiting for you when you get off the boat, or travel by horse and cart. If you are returning to Ireland and flying into Shannon then you can do Galway and the north the next time. On up into mayo by the coast, Sligo, Donegal and cross the border into the North of the country. When doing the ring of beara, take the road down to Irelands only cable car at dersey island. The drive to here worth it. stunning views. Kerry is the most beautiful part of Ireland and west cork, so allow your self the time to explore this. But you seem to have everything well covered. I do hope the weather will be on your side for your stay. makes all the difference. Hope this can be of some help. safe travel. Jer
