Volunteer in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia or Colombia

Hi,

I'm looking for volunteering opportunities (preferably teaching) in either Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia or Colombia for 4 weeks. I've got 3 months off from December 2012- Feb 2013 and was looking to spend 4 weeks teaching in South America. I'm currently doing my postgrad in primary education and have volunteered as a teacher previously in Brazil, South Africa, Tanzania and Indonesia.

Would really appreciate your help, advice and information on reliable volunteering organisations. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the advice ratfishmonkey. I had a look at your website Links for Change and quite honestly, it is too expensive. Furthermore, I'm not sure where the money goes (even though the allocation is mentioned on the website.. still, these days you can put any fancy graphs to impress people). Also, it seems that I will have to pay not only your service charges but also the charges of the volunteer organisation. Isn't this a bit too much? Your organisation claims to help volunteers but I think it should also mention your target volunteer - those who can afford your service.

Majority of volunteers work throughout the year and save money to be able to volunteer. I think it's quite unfair to charge exorbitant amounts for your service.

You should contact Volunteer Latin America. They are an excellent source of free/low-cost and legit volunteer programs throughout Central and South America.
