Lauterbrunnen (Jungfrau area)

Hey all,

I decided, very last minute, that I need a short break from work and am in need of some high altitude mountain air.

After some research in the Internet I found that Lauterbrunnen would be a good place to stay for 3 days (and not too far from Belgium). I know it might sound a bit crazy to drive 700+ kms for only 3 days but unfortunately I do not have more hoildays at the moment...

Does anybody has some suggestion on 1 or 2 1-day hikes? I would love to go as high up in the mountains as possible... I managed to find a lot of hikes but most of them are rather flat (I am probably looking at the wrong place).

Also, if somebody has some suggestions on where to stay, more than welcome!

Steven

Trek from Murren to Obersteinberg via Gimmelwald (NOT Grindelwald). Spend the night at Obersteinberg and return to Lauterbrunen via Stechelberg.

One of our most memorable treks.

from Lautterbrunnen itslef, you could always walk up to Wengen, then on up to Manlichen, to Schienegg and then down the other side to Grindelwald.
