Escaping the heat in Uzbekistan

Hi all,

I'll be in Uzbekistan for 20 days in August, for the usual tour (Tashkent, Samarkand, Buchara, Khiva).
I'm well aware that it will be really hot and I have the feeling that after 10-14 days I'll had enough of
historical cities and blazing sun. I'll need some cooler place...

Anyone could suggest any montain/hillside places in Uzbekistan to visit in order to relax and chill a bit for a few days?
I would be looking for places not too hard to reach and that could cater also for people not looking for heavy/long treks.
..Or should I just head for Tajikistan?

Many thanks,
D.

I've been looking at the temperatures as I'm off there this weekend. Fortunately my trip ends in Kygyzstan, where the mountain temperatures seem much more pleasant! I'm sure Tajikistan would also offer this relief.

Could you tell me a bit more plz(where are you crossing the border, which places are you planning
to visit, how will you move about, etc..) ?
