2Got a 90 day visa today in Puerto Iguazu. Stayed at Residential Lola straight across the street from the consulate and was first in when they opened at 0800 with completed form downloaded from internet, passport and additional photo, proof of onward ticket and copy of bank statement downloaded from internet. Cost was ARG Pesos 175 (Australian Passport) and I picked it up at 1200. Good service, 4 hour turnaround, friendly staff. Painfree. Make sure you have name and phone number of accommodation in Puerto Iguazu and fill in all of the form. Bambu hostel next door have internet and can print copies.

3Does the Puerto Iguazu Brasilian consulate issue 1 year visas (the kind that are good for two stays of 90 days within the year?)

4I am also planning a trip to argentina and brazil and would appreciate some info. I am a canadian citizen travelling to argentina first and I want to get a 90 day tourist visa for brazil at puerto iguazu. I have proof of bank funds, I will have an onward ticket showing I will be leaving brazil, a brand new passport, and of course will have the form filled out with an extra passport picture. And I also have a contact in brazil I will be staying with for a little while. I'm really nervous because I will have plane tickets that will be useless if I do not get this visa. Can anyone tell me what my chances of getting the visa are and what my chances of being denied ? I emailed the consulate and got a reply back fairly quickly about processing time and requirements for the visa so I find it hard to believe they could deny you if you have all the required documents..i also specified in the email that i wanted a 90 day visa..any help is greatly appreciated !!

On 2009 I went to puerto iguazo and crossed the border no problem without visa just to see the waterfalls and came back the same day. The bus stops at the border and whoever needs the entrance gets down, most locals just stay on the bus.
1 month ago on may 2013 I went again this time i was going to brazil further.
I arrived on friday to the embassy very early having made my registration online before. At 12pm that same day they gave me the visa.
I crossed the border and the bus stoped only because i had to get down to get the entrance.i got it no problem. on the evening i took my plane from foz d iguazu to sao paulo no problem.
Note: On days different than friday you leave your passport one day and get the visa next day.
Note2: I am mexican a needed a visa during those times even if not anymore
