Dress code in Dhaka
hello fellow travellers,I'm off to Dhaka in a few days, and before I can even commence with the arduous task of packing my suitcase I really need to know if it is acceptable for men to wear shorts in Dhaka.
I'm staying there for 5 nights and I'm not planning to venture out to any of the nearby rural areas. I'm quite aware of the fact that men wearing shorts are not allowed to enter mosques which are in abundance in Dhaka, but the idea of wearing jeans in the sweltering heat of Dhaka isn't exactly pleasing.
Thanks in advance,
Deniden.
P.S. I have already decided against packing some T-shirts with naked women printed of them, as I take it, this kind of clothing is non-negotiable in Bangladesh. Right?

The truth is that usually people through bad comment for locals who wear half pants (not more than that). But as a foreigner you can easily wear half pants. But if you go inside any locals house or any Mosque/Tomb, please wear full pants. You also can bright some loose gabardine pants (may be tree quarter pant I mean a bit longer than half pant)Reg T-shirts, you took good decision.

Yes Mr. Mahmud is right. I could add that, shorts everywhere in Dhaka is acceptable except Mosque to entire inside. In this hot and humid days , you can wear shorts, no problem for general thing.6
T-shirts and long/three-quarter cotton trousers will be the best for Bangladesh this time. You can try 'lungi' but I think you cannot maintain this.Discover Bangladesh
