airport transit question
Hi all,Just a quick transit question. I am soon flying through Panama City on my way to Bolivia. I have some friends that live in PC, and I will have a 4-hr layover in Panama City. How feasible is it for me to go all the way through customs/immigration in Panama so that I can exit the airport and say hello? If this doesn't make sense or isn't possible, can I get to that upstairs cafeteria area while I'm still "in transit" so that they can come to meet me at the airport and visit briefly? Is there a way to do this without me having to go through customs/immigration in Panama? I do remember the customs line being somewhat slow last time I was there...
Any thoughts/advice are much appreciated. Thanks!

Since your baggage will be checked all the way to Santa Cruz, if you were to decide to go thru immigration/customs, that shouldn't take long. You shouldn't have problems if you just want to see your friends at the airport and remain there while wait for the connecting flight.Bear in mind, that 4 hours between flights may be too short of a time to get out of the airport AND be driven to the city for a quick tour as you'll most likely be required to be at the gate one hour before departure (or go thru airport security).
