Cheap/Affordable Accommodations in Cusco, Peru

I'm looking to travel and possibly volunteer in Cusco, Peru (senior in college, solo female) and I'm looking for places that I can stay for cheap ($150 weekly or less possibly). I speak basic/intermediate Spanish with a developing background in healthcare (nursing).

Can anyone here post some sites of volunteer places in Cusco, Peru that offer accommodations for those who work with them or links to places that offer affordable accommodations? I'd really appreciate it.

Than in advance

Travel agencies receive commissions from hotels so it won't be cheaper through them. Cris36 is only using this forum to promote a travel agency, 6 out of 7 posts recommend a travel agency I have never seen or heard of in over 20 years staying in Cusco for over a month every year.
You'll easily find hotels in your price range, check out hotels catering to internal tourists and businessmen. This will also help you to improve your Spanish.

There's a place in Cusco called CAITH or Centro Yanapanakusun run by italian volunteers providing help, care and instruction to poor andean girls who come to the city to work as housemaids, often beaten and abused.
They operate a great little hotel as a source of resources for their projects and it's, according to me, one of the best choices to get to know the reality of Cusco and of the andean regions, beyond the touristic stereotype.
Hope it's useful, sorry for my poor english.

Machu-Picchu is really a fantastic place. There are many cheap hotels available there. Apart from this, you can get luxurious hotels to stay at affordable prices.. You will enjoy the excellent hotel facility with great hospitality.
