Stay safe, Tim.
Maybe his laptop got accidentally damaged, and I don't think Internet Clubs/Cafes are abundant in the remote mountain or desert regions, let's hope it's something simple.
Miguel.
Let's not go nuts here, but I actually did think that he could have been kidnapped. What about trying to contact his family?
Moreover, if he has Maroc Telecom, it is worse now than last year I was there, some days hopeless to connect
I was just thinking to ask if some have some contact to him or his family?

Hopefully nothing similar has happened to Tim.
An ordinary aerosol fly spray squirted around the hotel room is adequate before retiring at night with the windows closed, anyway I find that mosquitoes don't like my blood, usually too much alcohol contamination after my " nightcap "......it's the way to go !
Incidentally, I thought Senor Escobar was " blown away " years ago in Columbia, are you his successor ?

Contact Lost
..... contact seems to be lost with one of our Motorcyclist in Morocco !3
I hope he hasn't had an accident on his motorbike, I always worry about him, knowing how dangerous the mountain roads in the south of Morocco can be, with reckless drivers, notably grand taxis...but hopefully he just found an illicit " still " high up in redneck mountain country and is " sleeping one off "!Stay safe, Tim.

The last time I phoned home from both M'Hamid and Merzouga, both places were a long way from the nearest red signal mast and the reception was better than attempting a local call in the UK !Maybe his laptop got accidentally damaged, and I don't think Internet Clubs/Cafes are abundant in the remote mountain or desert regions, let's hope it's something simple.

Miguel, do you know the desert, the whole piece between Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga? It is a long bit and so much to see there. It is 250km between and if he stopped somewhere for more days... there connection is bad or not at all. I know one village and there around, not so far from Taouz and there it is completely without connection. Moreover, if he has Maroc Telecom, it is worse now than last year I was there, some days hopeless to connect
I was just thinking to ask if some have some contact to him or his family?

It's not teargas, it's a pepper spray, the same as used by UK police, which can be blown back into the face of the defendant by a gust of wind, causing tempoary blindness and leaving the aggressor unscathed. A small locking switchblade is a much more visible deterrent to a potential aggressor, I only had to produce mine once, on the north beach in Essaouira, when a bunch of Casawi devil kids, intent on snatching at my pockets to rob me, from all directions, quickly backed off. Fortunately a couple of fishermen appeared and chased the kids.Hopefully nothing similar has happened to Tim.
