I'm with you, lucapal.Top of my 'no return' list is Montenegro, where we curtailed a planned 3 day visit by 2 days. The problem wasn't the scenery, which is stunning; just everything else- like being in Moscow in the 1970's, but even less smiley.
And then, there was the GIANT JAPANESE WASP that landed on the back of my niece's neck as she was driving us back to lovely Dubrovnik, which I had to remove without her seeing it, panicking & driving us straight into one of the beautiful fjords....
Being a Londoner, I don't want to spend my holidays tiny countries which are packed to the gunnels with tall buildings & concrete eg Monaco; I am therefore less than interested in visiting Panama, Taiwan or Singapore.
I'm also not keen on countries where women are not really welcome on equal terms, so that rules out Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran & Algeria.
I had always wanted to see San'aa in Yemen, but at the moment, that for me is in the same bracket as Afghanistan ie just not safe
Other places that just don't, for me, have an identifiable personal appeal include Nigeria & South Africa & I'm quite concerned that I might be wasting my money going to Serbia or Bulgaria (see Montenegro above!). I wonder what it is that exerts the pull or push?

South Africa? Its a great place...can't believe there is nothing there of interest for any individual....it has great beaches, trekking, wildlife, food and wine, history, culture and at least one beautiful city (CT).
Similarly the USA has a huge variety.....I think prety much anyone can find something they like there, even if 90%of the country doesn't interests them.
Antartica and Saudi are easier to understand..though there are still things of interest there (I haven't been to Saudi yet and its not top of my list, but one day I'll go there)

TrumanI like Montenegro..and Bulgaria is great (Serbia is one that I doubt I'll go back to).
Iran is a fascinating place....and I'd love to go to Yemen and Afghanistan (they are on the list of 'some time in the future ;-) Taiwan also has some very interesting culture and nature...and Singapore has great food.
Monaco is one of those 'once was enough' for me.....

I have no interest in visiting Maldives- maybe except for the capital. I hate beaches but go there because my parents like to.I'd like to go everywhere I've already been to.

Wouldn't that rule out Yemen and Afghanistan as well?
Women are welcome to visit Iran on equal terms, I'm a woman and I've backpacked Iran. Yes I had to wear a headscarf but so what..?
If you don't want to respect local culture, stay at home. I doubt you'd be happy visiting Yemen and Afghanistan with that attitude.
To answer the original post:
Assuming I'll have the chance of visiting every country in the world I'd do it. I'm sure I could find something good in every country. However the more touristy countries just don't appeal to me.
Countries that only cater to luxurious travel disgusts me. Where people have to serve you. I haven't been yet, but I'm imagining certain parts of the Carribbean and Emirates to be like this.
I'd rather experience the real culture, frankly.

Antarctica and the US, but lived in the US for 3 years many years ago.10
I would really like never to go back to Kazakhstan.......other than that there isn't anywhere (although I'd probably agree with ansh-jain - the Maldives have no appeal whatsoever).11
There are places that I can't imagine going back to and finding something interesting and new to do...like Monaco,Luxembourg, the Vatican City. Not terrible, just not interesting enough to see again.......

Hurricanebertha,Whilst it is perfectly reasonable to point out the inconsistencies in my logic, I really object to your sheer nastiness.
You know nothing about me; I have travelled all over the world & always respect local culture.
What I don't understand is people who use these forums (fora?) as a reason to insult people they have never met. Such actions do not reflect the Thorn Tree ethos and offer nothing positive to any debate.
