Lakebecky1yeah thats what im hoping. hopefully just by turning up at the right time i was hoping on getting one.
I did originally think that but then i didnt really like the idea of leaving all my things such as laptop passport money gear in a shared room incase someone knicks it, but i havent really been able to come up with any other ideas. i do like the idea of couch surfing untill i get staf housing set up, the only problem is i have no idea how to get started on doing that.
Yeah my ideas to go out end of September just to make sure that i secure myself one.
I was going to go through Bunac but then after speaking with other people i realised there really just a glorified visa agent. they dont do anything you cant do with google haha.
Where abouts are you from?

as for the timing, i will have to see as i won't be able to pop over there until the end of october... hoping that some jobs are still going then. if worst comes to worst, i'll get a job in a bar, something i've done for a few years...
and yes, i will either go to whistlers or to banff. why? because of the night life, because of all the different people, and because it's busy.

Hi guys! I am also doing the same as you! had planned on going on the 31st october bunac group flight but have read this is quite late and you will of course miss the whistler job fair :( I am a bit confused not going to lie! Also wanted to go the 31st as i'd have more time to earn money in the UK and also my 19th birthday is on the 26th so it would be nice to stay for that!Have you guys found out any more since this post was active?

I'm in NZ. and went with the working holiday club. they charge you a ton, but at least they set me up with a face to face interview here in NZ. I think though that all the UK interviews have been done already.Now, just to clarify, as I was a bit confused at first too... these job interviews were for the whistler and blackcomb resort (everything on the ski fields, rentals, some cafes and restaurants that belong to them as well).
And then there is the whistler village. have a look online what sort of jobs could be available there. for example, you might want to work in a pub or something; look it up online, send them an email and maybe ask them if you could have a skype interview with them, or tell them when you are going to be there for a face to face.

Yeah well i'd love a job working for the mountain as this sets you up with accommodation and a lift pass etc... but is this unlikely traveling down on the 31st october? and what is the best way to go about this?
You say get there before halloween but is that purely from a social POV or to get a job? as I don't want to have to leave the UK any earlier if possible.

Hi guys.. havent been on the thread for a while forgot it was still active to be honest.. in reply to WillAtkins261 i havent really found out much else really seeing as alot of people i email either dont reply or try to shift me onto other websites. i have however booked flights out there seeing as im going over with no job set or proper accommodation ive opted to go out early so i fly in the middle of september.. im hoping this will give me enough time.. if you like inbox me your email and i will forward any information or contacts that i get over there ready for when you arrive.adam

Hey guys, it looks like I've joined this topic pretty late but I'll see if anyone replies. I'm heading out to van on the 17th probably head straight up to whistler pretty soon after. I like the idea of getting a job with the firm as it would make life a whole lot easier while out there is it sounds like a nice set up, albeit crap pay. Are their jobs just on the whistler blackcomb website?If anyone is heading out ere around the same time as well, then give me a shout, I'm always up for meeting some friendly faces!
