Uzbekistan travel agencies- not all deliver as promised-World Expeditions
I booked with World Expeditions to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan since they promised "adventure travel" and off the beaten track. They not only didn't delivery anything different than the elderly bus tours ( I know since I was lock step with them), but when I complained said that the destination alone constituted "adventure travel". Since they are only the middleman and subcontract out everything I recommend a local tour company who actually know the places and can really do an off-the-beaten-track. Can't believe these travel company Web sites!1
You seem to have an issue with a very reputable company that does organise off the beaten track adventures. I know many who have travelled with them. Maybe this trip didn't meet your expectations, but plenty of their trips meet plenty of others expectations. Especially their hiking trips in the Himalayas. They are a well know company with a good reputation so your 2 post rant on TT will achieve nothing. Just move on, accept you picked the wrong company and didn't research what they did enough.
You are right you can't believe the company websites. But that applies for all companies.

Ahmd,I don't have a problem with people complaining, but the OP joined the site just to complain. So they may not even be genuine and just someone trying to slander a good companies name. By the sounds of it World Expeditions did nothing wrong, it just wasn't the trip what the OP was looking for.
Perhaps some of the blame is on the OP for not researching properly either.

JustinYou were NOT there with OP to known if he had a genuine complaint or not. He might as well signed up to complain but that does NOT mean his story should be dismissed as fraud.
How did you know it was OP's fault?
Are you trying to say that reputable companies can do NO wrong? I mean common....
Are you going to attack any one who will come forth with a bad experience with a reputable company as a fraud

If you read the OPs statement, he booked a tour, which wasn't to his taste. The company did nothing wrong. the OP booked a trip with them, if he did some reasearch or asked a question or two, he'd have found out that they subcontract in the region and what the trip was all about. Also they have itineraries which clearly show where they are going and how long they spend at each place. In fact if you read world expeditions trip notes you get a pretty good idea what the trip is about. The OP has not actually identified anything wrong. apparently he booked it thinking it was different from an elderly bus tour, but yet the trip on the website looks like a tour, they call it an adventure touring, which their definition is touring in remote locations.
If the OP has a valid complaint then I'm happy for them to voice it. But all they have done is make 2 posts about how world expeditions is no good, because he went on a tour that was like an elderly persons tour.

I have just seen this topic, and would like to share a couple of thoughts:1. If you purchased a tour from an intermediary who is obviously using a local company, they must have supplied a detailed itinerary of your tour, which would for example, read something like "On Day 1 you drive in an elderly bus from Tashkent to Samarkand". From this detailed itinerary it would be clear it is an adventure or a classic tour.
2. Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are in fact more about classic tours, though with some elements of adventure tours (see this tour example ). You just need to tell your local travel company what adventures you need. They will surely provide.
