DRIVING from Mongolia to Estonia... Please help
Hi there, me and a friend - will both be 20 by next summer, when we plan on going. We have read all about the exploits of people driving from the UK to Asia but we were wondering is it possible to do it this way round.
We were thinking of driving a road legal buggy, flying to china buying one straight from the factory, getting them to ship it to Mongolia or get a local Chinese person to drive it into Mongolia for us, at which point we would take the wheel in Mongolia and proceed to drive this route
Mongolia Russia Khazakstan Kyrgystan Uzbekistan Turkmenistan Azerbaijan Georgia Armenia and then by this point the easiest way to Estonia
I am well aware of the challenges such a journey would hold, however I need to know is this possible? Where would such issues arise, for example laws regarding the registering of a car, closed borders, etc etc
Basically the concerns I have are split into two categories. Logistical eg car insurance, registering a car when purchased, selling the car etc etc
And the other is geographical so order crossings etc
Money isn't a real issue, I should have 5000 pounds or so saved up by this point same as him, we are looking to do this over 10 weeks, and we would split all the costs down the middle, car is looking at around £1000 each. So could this be feasible, I FONT MIND SLUMMING IT
Thanks, and please help make my dream a reality, the travel aspect doesn't concern me, I've been travelling solo since 18 around camb

Your 'dream' sounds quite extraordinary. We were thinking of driving a road legal buggy, flying to china buying one straight from the factory, getting them to ship it to Mongolia or get a local Chinese person to drive it into Mongolia for us, at which point we would take the wheel in Mongolia and proceed to drive this route
I guess the whole thing has to start with this bit - do you know where the factory is, whether they will even sell you a vehicle directly, whether they will ship it somewhere else, or whether you can find someone to drive it for you?
If the answer to any of those questions is 'no' then you are stumped before you begin. When you have sorted those bits out, come back and we can talk about visas, and taking vehicles across borders, driving distances, petrol consumption etc.
BTW What kind of range does a 'road legal buggy' have? Carrying your luggage and enough fuel for large distances probably makes this whole dream completely unviable.
