wellington/christchurch in 5 days
hi, i'll be going to new zealand next july.i will attend an english course in auckland for two weeks
after that i'm planning to visit wellington and christchurch
unfortunately i only have 5-6 days to visit both cities
i need advice how long should i stay in wellington/christchurch?
and what are the attractions i could see in my short space of time?
thanks for your advice

As little time as possible in both. Spend the time you have seeing the wonderful scenery in the South Island. A look though some of the previous threads will give you some ideas of the highlights and possible itineraries. While you're in Auckland, think about heading out to Waiheke, Tiritiri Matangi or up to Leigh/Goat Island. Check out Auckland War Memorial Museum, Auckland Art Gallery, Devonport - including a walk up North Head, have fish n chips on one of the city beaches, and take in a rugby game.

Why stick to cities? How are you travelling, what are your inetrests & what is your budget? With only 5-6 days why not stick to the NI, eg Waitomo Caves, Rotorua, Taupo, Napier, Wellington OR AKL, Taupo, Tongariro, Wellington?3
In my two weeks course time, i think i'll be able to visit some of the interesting placeAround north island (rotorua and waitomo caves) that's why i also want to visit
South island and not stick in the north island.
When i look around the internet i found some coach tours which covers some of south island main icon
(mt. Cook and milford sound) in only 4 days. do you think these kind of tours worth it because i am
Travelling alone and all these tours seems put a high price to lone travellers.
Anyway, thanks for your advice.

Coach tours take you to many places, easily, but you have no control over the route. You could consider the overlander train from Auckland to Wellington to see scenery.
Then the South Island can tale the rest of your time.
