Nova Scotia and Quebec - Greenwood and Leaf-peeping
Thinking of a two week visit, flying in from the UK. We intend to visit Montreal and Quebec City, then train to Halifax, hire a car and spend a week touring around NS, including visit to Greenwood Aviation museum and the new memorial to WW2 aircrew killed training near the Bay of Fundy in WW2.Thought of going in the autumn for leaf-peeping.
As flights out of Halifax are hard to come by in the autumn, we may have to return to Montreal to go home.
Woud it be better to hire a motor-home rather than a car for touring NS?
Is Nova Scotia good for leaf-peeping? Anywhere in particular?
When do the colours start and end in NS?
How long to spend in each area?
Any other suggestions of things to do /see?
Thanks!

Re: the motor home: Support the B&Bs, small guest houses, small motels and cottages. Our roads are mostly 2-lane and our gas is expensive.Celtic Colours Festival 5 - 13 Oct.

I agree. The B&Bs are plentiful and wonderful. That way you get to visit with the locals there and it's a great way to go.All of NS is good for leaves.
If you haven't been before, do all the touristy things - Peggy's Cove, Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, The Annapolis Valley (there are great wineries there).
Try the Joggins Fossil cliffs, see here:

Cabot Trail only if you have time - it's actually worth a separate trip.
