One week in Anglesey

We’ll be spending a week in Anglesey in early July, staying in Moelfre. We are two grown-ups (mid 30s) and one less so (2).

Can anyone offer any top Anglesey tips, particularly:

  • Good (and toddler friendly) pubs with beer gardens and nice food
  • Nice walks, preferrably buggyable, so if the lad decides that 100 yards is enough it’s not straight back to the car
  • Good cafes
  • Anywhere with animals - farms open to the public, that sort of thing
  • Rainy day suggestions

We’ll def be going to Beaumaris Castle and some of the prehistoric sites (I’m an archaeologist by training). Any other must sees on the island? Particularly interested in places with nice grounds

And also have a perverse inclination to visit Wylfa nuclear power station – has anyone been – is it interesting?

Visit Newborough Warren Beach - its one of my favourites in the UK. You can play/walk along the beach ending up at the Holy Island which is plesent to walk around.

You have to go to Llanfair PG (which in full has the longest place name in the world. Go to the railway station and have a look at the name sign and you'll see what I mean!
