2 weeks in Thailand + add'l country
I'm curious if my rough itinerary is well spent and what an ideal destination would be for week 3. My friend and I are looking spend some time at the beaches, historical sites and jungle areas. Here's what I'm thinking for the first two weeks: 5 nights in Pattaya, 2 nights in Phi Phi. From there, fly to Chiang Mai for 4 nights and fly (or overnight train a night early) back to Bangkok for 2 nights. We'll be traveling late December to early January. The nights in Pattaya are part of a timeshare that was given to me. My friend will be leaving after week two and I'm looking for recommendations on where to go from Thailand. Safety is a concern because I'll be a woman traveling by myself. Thanks for reading & for any input!1
Have a look at a map and see if you really think it is realistic to go from Pattaya to Phi Phi to spend 2 nights and to then fly to Chiang Mai. Do a bit of research on your travel options to get there. It's probably doable but you will be turning around to leave again almost as soon as you arrive in Phi Phi.3
I hope you realise that Pattaya is where men go to find temporary girlfriends. You should find out what there is to do there other than hang out in bars looking for lurve. There is plenty to do, but it's not obvious like the bar scene. As already said, Pattaya to P P to C M is pretty bonkers.

Aside from the Pattaya to PP to CM logistics, spending 5 days out of your 2 weeks in Thailand in Pattaya isn't a good idea, IMHO. Even if it is some sort of timeshare freebie, I'd ditch it completely and spend the time somewhere nicer (which is basically anywhere). As for your 3rd week, a few days in Angkor is the obvious answer if you're looking for some historical stuff.

Some of us here detest Pattaya. Patty is not a place for a single woman traveler, unless you are working on the street.Few days in Bangkok, Ayutthaya (historical site), Chiang Mai & beyond (jungle trek) and last Phi Phi (beach).

^^ That's being a bit OTT. There's plenty to do in Pattaya without going near a bar, but you need to do some research before going.
