Medical Checks
Hello,Can anyone recommend somewhere close to Wellington to get my medical check done cheaply for my working holiday visa application? I need to have the medical plus blood tests and xray, the cheapest I have found so far is nzd450!!
I am staying about an hour north of Welly on the Kapiti Coast.
If anyone knows anywhere close ish to here that doesn't charge so much please let me know asap as I have to send the checklists back within 2 weeks.

If it's anything like Oz Fay, it's not just a case of using any doctor and you ought to check under health requirements on http://www.immigration.govt.nz/ and you should find what is referred to as panel doctors, those authorised by the immigration department.2
Yes well. Heres the official:_Please note: If you are in New Zealand, you are not required to see a Panel Doctor. Any registered medical practitioner in New Zealand may complete your Medical and X-Ray Certificate form.

any Dr can do it, though the x-rays (if required) and blood usually have to be done by specific immigration-preferred people (The Dr who did my medical a few years ago took blood, sent it for testing, then I got a call from the testing centre to say they couldn't do immigration blood screening tests unless they themselves take the blood...which I had to go in and pay for!X-rays, if required, try Pacific Radiology.
Call around, check backpackers' notice boards, etc; or pay up.
