phu quoc

My wife and I are looking at 2-3 weeks holiday in Phu Quoc in late August/ early September.
I have mixed messages from previous forum postings that the monsoon maybe around and subsequent lots of wet days.
I have spent time in the Gulf of Thailand in Koh Samui and Koh Samat in September and the weather has been warm and sunny with short but heavy rain periods each day. Is the weather in Phu Quoc similar at this time of the year? Thanks

Hi there,
My partner and I were there in july last year on two occasions. The first time was for around 3 days and it was great weather with only one downpour but the second time around 2 weeks later it rained for around 3 days straight. Also, whilst its a beautiful place and we'd definately go back, it would be another time of year when the beaches would be nicer due to trade winds washing a lot of stuff onto the shore. If you do go, we can recommend Mango Bay Resort where we stayed on both occasions- great food and nice staff. Good luck

3 weeks on Phu Quoc?? You will either be bored rigid or so relaxed you'll be unable to walk. Same result I guess

The ferries from Rach Gia are big things. No prob there. The ones at Ha-tien looked a bit dodgy
