Travel Insurance - Pre-existing condition

I am planning an extended trip to Guatemala. I searched the forum, but didn't find any recent posts about this. I'm looking for travel insurance that will cover a pre-existing condition. Any suggestions?

Insurance is for the unexpected - a pre-existing condition isn't unexpected so therefore isn't usually covered. It depends on what it is - things like asthma and controlled high blood pressure often are covered so long as you declare them. On the other hand my partner has angina and I usually need a note from a specialist before I can get coverage for him.

You need to talk to some of them - and go through the standard list of questions they will ask you before they cover.

Or just travel knowing that you are not covered for that particular aliment. I have osteo-arthritis which wouldn't be covered, but I don't feel that I need travel insurance for it either

I use ebookers but I am an EU resident. The US must have plenty. Googe around.
