Milan - Interlaken by Train in August 2012

Milan - Interlaken by Train in August 2012

My wife and I plan to travel from Milan to Interlaken around 23rd August 2012. Unfortunately the rail route is closed due to construction work during that period. This closure is between Iselle di Trasquera and Domodossola. The website mentions that replacement buses are operating. Does this mean that when you purchase a ticket from Milan to Interlaken one has to change over to a bus in Domodossola and will be dropped at Iselle di Trasquera Railway Station to continue the journey?

Is there a Bus service from Milan to Brig, so that one can avoid all the hassles of changing from train to bus and again from bus to train?

YES, you will arrive at Brig, Spiez and Interlaken 30 min later.

As you will have to change to a bus anyway, you may choose the much more scenic bus ride over the Simplon Pass (2000m/6600ft), Domodossola dp 12.50, 13.50 and 14.50 - Brig ar 14.31, 15.31, 16.31, connecting trains to Spiez (- Interlaken) 18 min later.
