Need information and help on Ladakh trekking

Hello,

I am planning a Ladakh trekking in August probably from 5th to 24th. I will first trek Markha valley and move on to Stok Kangri climbing. For the Markha valley trekking, can I hire only a guide with dongkey to carry my camping equipment? I would like to cook by myself and sleep in my tent.
Could you suggest a reliable trekking agency for my trip?

Donkeys can get you to the second step on Kangri these days.

By surfing this forum I read many suggestions that it is better not to book with trekking agency in advance because it is too expensive, but to arrive Leh first and then to look for a proper agency.
Do you think I can find proper service and/or companion after I arrive at Leh on August 5?

For Markha valley trekking, I would like to do semi-autonomous trekking. I mean by that I use my camping equipment for eating and sleeping but sometimes I want homestays on the way. Therefore, I would need only a horseman with donkey for this trekking.
For Stok Kangri mountaineering, I think I have to rely on professional guide and camping with cook.

I would appreciate your advice or recommendation.

There are plenty of agencies advertising i.a. the Markha trek and Stok Kangri climb in Leh. It's best just to shop around when you arrive. If you want to join other persons, you may need to have a few days of flexibility, especially for the Stok Kangri climb.
