Svalbard - Gun

Hi, I am planning a trip to Svalbard. I am wondering if I will need to carry a gun, even when I stay within the "management area 10"?

Would very much appreciate information on this!

definitely and positively YES. Outside Longyearbyen you have to carry and adequate weapon. That means a .308 riflet, or repetition shotgun with five shells capacity loaded with deer slugs. .
