6 day trip in Spain - Valencia, Seville or San Sebastian?
My husband and I (40) are going to Spain for 2.5 weeks. We will fly to Barcelona for 4 days and then Ibiza with friends for 1 week. We then have 6 days and are trying to decide where to go to in Spain to experience a bit more of The Spanish culture. We will be flying from Ibiza and are deciding between Seville area, Valencia area or San Sebastian? We would love to experience a night or 2 in rural Spain. We love good food, wine, beach or countryside and architecture. We are happy to hire a car and drive ourselves and are also happy to move around to see a bit more of Spain.
Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

All 3 are worthwhile destinations....If your main interest is culture (and trad.Spanish culture in particular) I'd go with Seville. Though for me it also depends when you are going (are you ok with 40°plus temps if is July or August?)
There are nice rural towns and villages near all 3 of these cities as well.......

San Sebastián and surroundings and Sevilla and surroundings could be two good different options that would provide you two different tastes of Spain.I would suggest you to go to the city with the cheapest flight in your travel dates.

HelloIf you look for something more "Typical spanish", probably Andalucia would be your safer choice: bulls, sun, flamenco, nice architecture to see, very nice people, etc. Sevilla + Doñana + some beach close to Cadiz would be OK for 6 days I think.
If you want to discover the other Spain, then go to the north, Asturias, Cantabria or Basque Country for a nice green countrysides, beautiful rural houses in the montains and some routes in the nature. And, very important, probably best food than in the south. Also nice beaches (smaller, less crowded but probably colder) and good cities like Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vitoria, Logroño, Oviedo, etc...
Enjoy

It mainly depends in part on the month you pretend to travel. July and august is unbearable hot in Sevilla or Valencia, but nice in San Sebastian, despite it can be cloudy/foggy some days.Sevilla is ok from october to to april and Valencia would be somewhere between, a spring/autumn destination.
Have in mind that Sevilla has no beaches close to the city and it has a dry heat, while in Valencia the heat is mainly wet and sticky, but at least the beach is just a tram journey away from the city centre.

Thank you for great suggestions. I should have mentioned that we will be traveling in the last week of August. In the Seville region can anyone recommend any lovely beach towns we could include on our 6 day trip or any must see smaller towns?
In the San Sebastian area are there any other smaller beach towns or must see country towns that we should visit?

Hi again,I don't know Sevilla area well enough but for San Sebastian I would say that you should include these towns:
- Hondarribia, a medieval town at the French border
- Biarritz, in France, but worth the trip as this is the place where surf was first seen in southwestern Europe.
- Zarautz, longuest beach in the Basque country
- Getaria, close to Zarautz, hometown of Elcano, first sailor to do a round the world trip, and nice local Txacolí wines.
Enjoy!
