Cairo museum - daily guided tours?Hello!
Returning from our summer holidays in August we have a loong stop over in Cairo which gives us the opportunity to visit Cairo museum that is very interesting from what we know. Does anybody know if there are guided tours to the museum? I found on the net that there are companies offering a full day trip in Cairo and arranging airport pick up + visit to pyramids + visit to museum + lunch for a good price but I don't know which one is reliable and well organised. Of course, we are more interested to seeing the museum and that is why focusing. We arrive early in the morning in Cairo ( around 06.00am and our departure flight is around 16.00 in the afternoon. I don't know how much we can do within this period and if we need to have it planned in advance.
Any help/suggestion is welcomed.

1You definitely do not need some overpriced tour.
You will have ample opportunity to hire a guide at the museum upon your arrival. You don't need to look for them, they will approach you as soon as you arrive and purchase your ticket. I had several approach me as soon as I entered the building.
After your flight arrives you'll have plenty of time to have breakfast and wait until around 8am before taking a taxi to the museum. You'll have to be back a the airport around 1400 and allow yourself at least an hour to get back. That gives you several hours to enjoy the museum.

3Who are you flying with? Check out their stopover brochure and discuss with a travel agent the option of a stopover trip organised through the airline. This would include a tour that you have designed as per your Cairo Musuem request.
Whoever the airline have subcontracted this tour to they will meet you at the Queen Alia International Airport Arrivals and drive you to the Museum to meet your Guide.
IF you had done this before paying for your airline tickets the whole cost would be rolled in to one charge you don't pay for anything other than a tip and your meals.
The tour company that this has been subcontracted to is cotnracted to get yoo back to the Airport in time to check in for your departing flight.
Discuss this with the travel agent you booked with OR go straight to the airline you are flying with and discuss it with their sales agent.

5Thanks guys! Airline is Egyptair but tickets are already purchased. So, in case we would like to add a tour (including a pick up from the airport) - whatever this tour can be (museum + maybe also alsewhere) we can contact the Egyptair ticketing at Cairo Airport to arrange it on arrival (?)
If this is not possible on the spot while arriving at the airport I will have a look at www.touregyptguide.com that mariansobhy proposed to see what they offer. I wish they are reliable.
Thanks once again! ;-)
