Visa wait for American going to Iran?
Hello All,Have just submitted the requisite information for my travel visa for Iran to the agent. As an American I know there are more hoops to jump through with the MFA then other nationalities, but I was wondering how long I should expect to wait for the confirmation number to be sent through. Anyone have any recent experiences surrounding the expected wait time they could share?

I am an American who visited Iran last year. It does take a while for the Iranian Interests section of the Pakistani Embassy to process your visa, as it needs Iranian Foreign Ministry approval first. My Iran visa was approved only 5 days before my departure. I assume you are on a "approved" group tour, as it's the only way you will get a tourist visa to visit Iran if you're American.5
I've been waiting since January for our visa approval... most likely will have to cancel our Iran part as we are supposed to leave for Central Asia on Friday.ADVERTISEMENT
