Yeah I agree Beligian. Trains can be late, but day trains with all the food options and views of the countryside can't be beaten.

it takes three times as long. Totally ridiculous idea to take a train to Pattaya, they're great at night otherwise forget it. In general I like trains, also light rail but for sure train buffs will not be too impressed with Thailand.

Mozzie, of course you can go by train to Pattaya

Well, I stand well and truly corrected :) Didn't even know there was a line running in that direction. You learn something every day...

Actually Mo Chit bus station is about the same distance from KSR. No clue which would be quicker to reach, but the bus from Mo Chit gets to Pattaya faster than from Ekamai, especially the Motorway buses.

I thought of that, buses leave Mo Chit for Pattaya often. But it's a better tip, to reach Ekamai from KSR rather than Mo Chit, just because the buses are much more frequent.

Hey guys, thanks for all of your replies. So are you saying that Mo Chit terminal is faster and better than Ekamai? Thanks again. Cheers.

Sorry to disagree, but I live in Pattaya and go to Bangkok on a regular basis. Mor Chit is much longer. Ekamai can be reached in only 90 minutes....and a bus leaves every 30 minutes. Look at a map and you'll see why.

Edit: If you are coming from KSR, Mor Chit is probably your best bet. It's closer. To Ekamai it can be a long taxi ride. Traffic can be really bad. If you are doing this during rush hour, either way will be tough. Mor Chit can be really slow to Pattaya due to traffic. Wifey just told me if she goes to Mor Chit, she will only do it late at night, and then catch another bus upcountry from there.
