Just a wild guess that most of the people here don't travel that way ---

Saloon Price in US$ (Till April 2012)* Description (per night)
Super Deluxe US$ 1600 Per Suite, Per Night
Deluxe US$ 590 Twin Sharing
Deluxe US$ 825 Single Occupancy

Perhaps consider posting the question on the Condé Nast Traveler forums.

You can watch one of those luxury train journeys on " Travel Chanel", same episode repeated almost every day last week or two. That one runs from Mumbai and ends in Delhi.

Palace on Wheels is the first luxury train to be introduced in India. It began it journey way back in 1982 whereas the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels was launched in 2009 to cater to the rising demand of services similar to Palace on Wheels for luxury tours to Rajasthan.

Schedule and tariff are as RajuIndia and and Pirate-at-50 have mentioned above. Besides journeys on board this train is all inclusive. That is you don't have to pay for accommodation, dining, entrance fee at monuments, transportation and local guide for sightseeing at destinations.

What makes this rail journey unique is the traditional hospitality and a slice of the cultural interactions translated into overall tour experience.

The details of the train could be found here: Royal Rajasthan on Wheels

And here's what you asked for: a link to a review by Robert Shelton of Houston, TX., who traveled on this train in February, 2012 on the website of International Society of Rail Travelers Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Train Tour Review
