Buddy Village (KSR) owner killed

according to the BKK Post, police are finally going to crack down on speeding drivers after a fatal crash on the expressway on friday, although I'll believe that when it actually happens ! it seems one of the dead drivers was the owner of buddy village on KSR...apparently there is enough money in the KSR backpacker business to buy porsches?

The driver of a crashed Porsche, Thaifah Chayaworaprapa, 54, was found dead inside. He owns the Buddy Village Hotel on Khao San Road.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. They said a speed dial on the Porsche showed the car was driving at 280km/h.

I wonder if excessive speed was a cause ?

If you own a successful guesthouse and land it wouldn't be hard to get credit.

He probably owned several guesthouses and other businesses. And could have been in the military or police...where the real money is made.

Porsches are incredibly expensive here. Only the really wealthy (politicians/police) own them.

So the smashed up speedometer showed 280 km/h? As if that's likely to be accurate. After all, the car was going pretty close to zero just moments after the crash occurred so the speedo could be reading near zero instead.

I would hardly call the Buddy Lodge typical backpacker accommodation with rooms hitting 900 Bht a night ..

Obviously low self-esteem fella, driving a fancy auto to impress strangers. Why would you drive an expensive luxury car in a crowded city with lawless driving habits and lack of any insurance coverage? What happen if Somchai Tuk Tuk scratches your fancy ride?

Methinks hired help from Mai noi.
