Travel agents booking budget accommodationI have been reading that it is advised to book accommodation prior to arriving in Yangon, I have also read that travel agents will help book high to mid range accommodation. Has anyone heard if it possible for them to book budget guesthouses this same way? We are wanting to book the first few places before we arrive so that we don't have to worry about the tight accommodation problem that seems to be happening right now. If so can you recommend any trail agents to get in touch with from Canada? Thanks everyone!

1as per # 1...try pre-booking just for Yangon (Ocean Pearl is good...Motherland Inn 2 is okay, and is similar price...both offer free airport pick-up)...then once there call ahead a couple days and book rooms.
If youy are planning on heading there soon you probably wont have so much of an issue with accommodation filling up anyway...the main tourist season is pretty much over.

2Thanks for the responses....I am planning for the month of November, from what I understand this is peak season so I was doing some pre planning.....from your responses I will just book a place in
Yangon and go from there!

3hi Imac...yep, November is the start of the main tourist season (I wouldn't say the peak..?? that's more like start of Dec thru to end of Feb/early March) . IF you are planing on spending 2-3 nights in Yangon before moving on you should be okay with calling ahead from there soon as you arrive and booking your next stops.
