Palawan in May, advice........

Hi everyone, my family are going to be in Palawan for a quick trip in May, we will be in PP for two nights and Sabang for three. We are going to do the Honda Bay tour and the Underground River. My question is what do we do with our valuables, passports, money, electronics etc., I am imagining carry them with us, seems like a foregone conclusion, just thought I would check. We are going to be in the water so was wondering.......
Thanks!

You mean when you do the Honda Bay Tour? Most people do this as a day tour from PP so surely you will be staying in a Hotel or Guesthouse at the time? Same with the Underground River? Just use the Hotels facilties or lock the things in your room..

Hi,

Impatient or what, 3 hours after you post you state - no answers. Thought about the time difference? Suggest you follow SB's advice.

Been visiting Philippines for 6 years and never had anything taken from any room, locked or unlocked!

I would not leave money/valuables in your room, there have been thefts from rooms in Sabang. Sabang is OK but 3 days would be too long, either add El Nido or Port Barton, you can get a boat from Sabang to Port Barton prob. quicker than by road.

If you're worried about things going missing from your room by maids with sticky fingers, my advice is to just leave them a small tip on a desk every time they do housekeeping to keep them sweet. It doesn't have to be much, P20-50 maybe, a little kindness and respect can go a long way.
