Help!! 3 Months to fit in my RTW itinerary

Help!!

I have three months to do some traveling. I have some ideas but I know I have to many destinations in my itinerary and I know it is impossible to do them all. So I need some help to narrow them down. I am leaving in mid-june and need to book flights and actually finalize a plan.

The locations I have been thinking off are;

Thailand - I will have friends in the area in July visiting Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Thailand has not appealed to me before but everyone I know who has been has loved it.

Fiji - I feel that this is somewhere I should go but I may need to remove this from my plan

Brazil - Definetley must see

Argentina - I feel I should visit BA

Peru - I feel I should see this

Costa Rica -

Belize

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations please help!

Why do you "feel" you need to visit places? You either want to go to a place and see it or you dont. Brazil seems like the only place you actually want to go.

With 3 months you would be better off sticking to either South East Asia or South America. This would also work out way cheaper than buying RTW flights.

As #1 said you could easily fill 3 months with, for example, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. Squeezing in the countries you mentioned to 3 months will leave you travelling a lot of the time and not spending much time in the places you go. Unless of course you fl everywhere which will be expensive and you will miss sights along the way. Perhaps just go to South East Asia or South America?

i agree with both previous posts.....on such a timeframe choose one continent, even spending all the 3 months in SA alone is not enough to cover everything......you seem to be leaning toward Brazil...so maybe spend most of your time there with a little time in Argentina. Choosing one continent will also save you on airfares.

if you are on a tightish budget.....travelling in SE asia will be cheaper than SA....brazil & argentina are 2 of the most expensive countries in SA to travel in

3 months to go around the world is insane...(unless you are 100 years old and this is your only chance to travel).

You could easily spend all the time just in Brazil and not get bored.......

Your plan will mean lots of planes,lots of airports,lots of buses and not actually doing very much...and spending a fortune.

Thanks for your help.

I have been a little more realistic and think I would like to do;

Belize-Guatemala-Costa Rica-Brazil (Possibly Argentina)

It would be nice to cover some Asia in my trip but Thialand or Indoneisa could be done at another time.

One of the travel agents I have been speaking to is trying to sell me the tours along some of these routes (which seem massively expensive). Im not sure I want to structure my travels this much. I like to think I can work things out myself and isnt that part of the enjoyment of travelling? So, do i really need to book these tours?

ok...there is no need to pre book any tours at all...if you feel that you want/need to do them,book them when you are there (eg day/2 or 3 days trips).....as they will cost a lot less and give you more freedom.

Where are you starting from?

The cheapest way into Belize will be flying to Cancun,Mexico...then by bus down to the border (6 hours or so).

You can get into Guatemala overland easily enough...and then to Costa Rice either by plane or a long bus trip through Honduras and Nicaragua.

From CR to Brazil you will have to fly......

I agree with all the other posts. SE asia or SA not both. It seems like your alot more interested in SA so just keep it simple... no need to go to travel agent just book your flight!

You can book and arrival flight into one country, and the exit flight out of another country.
what happens in between is up to you.

i flew into Lima and left out of Buenos Aires. Three months, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, (patagoinia), Argentina.
it was probably the best time i had during my 14month trip and wish i had stayed longer in South America.

After reading your first post my thought was Peru-Brazil-Argentina. After reading your 2nd post I'd say spend 6 weeks Belize-Guatemala-transit Honduras-Nicaragua-Costa Rica and fly to Brazil for the other 6 weeks.

You don't need to do tours.
