VISA fee - flying from puerto de iguazu > BA
ola!just want to clear the air:
i have been told that you only have to pay a visa fee coming into Argentina as an American only if you are flying into buenos aires.
i have also read that you dont need a visa to cross from brasil to argentina as long as your stay is under 24 hours.
Has anyone ever crossed into Argentina through Iguazu, then flown from Puerto de Iguazu to Buenos Aires before your 24 hours are up? Would I have to pay the visa fee flying into BA regardless even if I'm already in the country through Iguazu?
thanks.

It is a reciprocity fee and not a visa: you don´t need to present anything, just pay. It is only collected if you arrive in either airport in Buenos Aires on an international flight. The flight from Iguazu to BA is domestic. You do not pay at land borders no matter how long you intend to spend in Argentina (within the limits allowed a tourist - 90 days).2
Get your passport stamped when you enter Argentina in Iguazu, they will give you standard 90 days without a fee, then you're ready to go. Iguazu-BA flight is domestic so you don't have to pay anything.4
I just came through Peurto de Iguazu two days ago from Rio. They stamped my passport, and back on the plane to Buenos Aires. No fee. As others have said though , it is a domestic flight from there into BA. (Even though it's the same aircraft!)I'm writing this from the plane on the way back to BA, then back to Rio tomorrow, so maybe they'll get me on the way out? So far do good though!
