Best Airline from US to Bankok, Thailand

Planning trip to Thailand in June. We wil be flying from Los Angeles, CA to Bankok. Any suggestions on which airlines are best? I do not want to take American or other US airline if possible.

Thanks!

Besides not taking US carriers, I would also give JAL a pass. Their seating space is awful.

Thai or Singapore would be my choice. But, they can be the most expensive.

Head to Thaitown - Hollywood Blvd, between Western and Normandie. Stop at Silom Supermarket. In their parking lot there will be stands with free, Thai-focused newspapers. Look through the adds for deals on flights to BKK.

i've flown Thai, very nice compared to NWA / now DL, or UA. then again, a cargo ship would be better than DL / UA.

Korean Air was good for us (but that was out of Vancouver...a bit more north). I agree with UA...we took them last time, such an old worn out 747 jet.

EVA out of Los Angeles or San Francisco. Great transit times through beautiful and convenient Taipei airport.

I'd just like to second EVA. We flew it out of Vancouver last year and will likely fly it again this coming January. They were reasonably priced and the flying times from Vancouver to Bangkok (stop in Taipei) was 16hours not including the 3hrs in Taipei.

Equally good was Cathay Pacific. Similar prices and travel times. I just found the timing of the flights out of Vancouver are just a bit more convenient with EVA.

Korea Air, Eva Air, Thai Air or Cathay Pacific ...

I haven't flown Korea - hear they are among the cheapest. Eva's good, Thai's great, and Cathay is my usual carrier.

I agree with Joegoozey. Generally the Asian airlines are much better than the US ones. I always book through Expedia online and have never had a problem. Happy traveling!

Sounds like US airlines have a terrible rep.

If Emirates fly there, I found them to be excellent, but otherwise Thai for the legroom, and of course Singapore are probably the tops.

I'm no fan of US airlines either, but did fly UA a few months ago and the plane was brand new, food was good, service was OK...price was cheaper than anything else I could find except KAL. But KAL had a 7 hour layover.

If you've got the money, fly biz class. Not a bad way to go on any airline.

EVA - quality airline, good prices + a stopover if you so desire in Taipei - a very interesting 2 or 3 day sojourn.

OP depends if you are flying business or economy class. Some airlines that get bad reviews for their economy class are good in business and v.v.

At "OK", that would be a big step up for United service!

Between the States and Japan, one got the feeling we were bothering the cabin staff with our presence. Once we left Japan, with the Asian cabin staff, it was like a different airlines.
