Brazil/Bolivia
Hi all,I'm going to book my flights in and out of Rio de janeiro in the next few days and I'm just posting this (extremely rough) itinerary here to make sure its feasible/doable!I wanted to fly into Rio and out of La Paz but there is a difference of US$730 in the flights..
1st June Rio
6th June Ille Grande
11th - Iguazu
14th - bus to Campo Grande (Pantanal)
21st - Noel Kemppf Mercado nat. park
29th - La Paz (lake Titicaca) (choro trek)
8th July - Rurrenbaque (Amazon)
15th - Cordillera Real (hiking)
24th - Unyuni (salt flats)
27th - make my way back to Rio overland for the 2nd August stopping off in ???
I know this itinerary is very vague/rough but is that route doable in that time frame?

How flexible are you? I was thinking head straight to Campo Grande from Rio then carry on your itinerary from there to Uyuni, then You can go to Salta, Argentina for a couple of days then bus to Iguazu then Ille Grande and finally bus/flight back to Rio. This appears more logical as it is more of a circular route, it could also be done in the reverse order but I like the idea of Iguazu and Ille Grande last.2
Hi,going that way had crossed my mind and it makes sense alright but might have a friend coming for a shorter period which influenced my thinking! Thanks for the advice and I will look into Salta as well..
On the Pantanal, from reading through the forums it seems that Pantanal trips out of Cuiaba are the best for wildlife which is what I'd be after as it is more northern! But surely its possible to find a tour operator in Campo Grande that will go into the north or do they all stick to the southern part???
Also, do you know off the top of your head is there a night bus service between Rio and Campo Grande or if needs be Rio and Cuiaba?

The one thing that people seem to say is that, in Brazil, if you know when you are travelling it is cheaper, easier and quicker to fly. Flights are much more expensive in the rest of South america. Check out skyscanner.net to compare flights.5
Ok, thanks for the suggestions...I'll be back with questions about Bolivia..:)
