8 days in Spain Travel from Valencia

Hi All,

I am going to Valencia with a friend in May for a week and he will be flying back home after...however I would like to stay another 8/9 days and see more of Spain.

I visited Barcelona last year so would be keen to see some other places...was thinking potentially getting a bus to San Sabastian and then to Madrid? Any thoughts..would like to visit culturely rich places where I can find some decent hostels and keep it cheapish.

Thanks :)

Valencia to San Sebastian is quite a long trip and you will no doubt pass Madrid on route. If you are flying out of Madrid I would suggest heading to Granada 3 nights, Seville for 3 nights and then three nights in Madrid. Andulucia is not only culturally rich you will find a lot cheaper than San Sebastian whihc I find one of the dearest places in Spain.

There are many options for you. One of them could be to spend all your time in Madrid making daytrips to places like Toledo, Segovia, Ávila... You could visit Cuenca on your way from Valencia to Madrid...

The direct buses from Valencia to San Sebastián go through Teruel; i.e.: you don't pass Madrid en route. Bus company: Bilman

Was pointing out more the length of time than anything else and at 9 hours it is a long journey.

It's a long journey but it can be done overnight (i.e.: saving a night in accomodation). The OP will have to decide if an overnight bus is fine for him/her and if the option of San Sebastián and Madrid is more interesting (and/or cheaper) for him/her than any of the other options suggested.
