Check out Bohol-2nd tourist spot in the Philippines
Alona beach, Panglao has been my home. I couldn't ask for more. I just love the place with its finest beach where i can enjoy swimming all the time. Close to friendly restaurants...Lovely foods! Smiling people. I just want to share the good things I have experienced from this place. I don't want you to miss out this place.Check this out!

Oh, it helps. Especially those who are looking for a great place to enjoy. I am just sharing the fact of Bohol.4
Bohol is nice. I would rank it #3 or 4, but I haven't been everywhere yet. Chocolate hills are nice, Tarsiers are pretty interesting, Motorbikes for rent. Interesting cave. Nice place to motorcycle around. Old watchtower. Lodging is expensive, so is food. I usually walk up the road to the intersection, and eat there, good food and good prices, I'm pobre kuripot. Those water taxis out on the island must be the worst part of the Bohol experience. You have to pay a boat to take you to the island, then they insist that you also hire a water taxi take you out a few meters to the reef. You can walk to the reef, there is nothing but dead coral to walk on, nothing will be disturbed. No nasty fish will bite you. The water taxis are a tourist trap, many people fall for it, I did once.
Never pay the first price for a boat trip. Negotiate a cheaper price.

If we are talking about tourist traps, mention must be given to the Loboc river cruise which consists of an overpriced forty minute trip on a barge towed or pushed by a small motor boat whilst a buffet is served. If you are lucky enough to be on board without a bus load of Koreans there may be some food leftMy last trip to Oops on Panglao for breakfast was interupted by a demolition squad which knocked down the bar area next to where we were eating,as we ate. When we had finished the cash counter was a pile of rubble and the team moved on to the place next door. Apparently the structures were illegally constructed
Its definitely more fun in Philippines

I like Bohol...took some of the extended faily there for a little holiday and to show them some of the interesting things in their own country...Panglao island, I think the accomodation there is very xpensive even in off season but it is nice. I loved to eat at the Powder Keg. is it still there?
Chocolate Hills are just amazing, and I thought the Loboc River cruise was a blast, espcially as we were serenaded by 2 lovely ladies singing Abba songs....
I recommend the Dao Diamond in Tagbiliran. Affordable accomodation and good food.

#5, When was it when you were at Oop's bar and the demolition went on? I'll be in Bohol early May and it was on my short list for accommodation. Another place I was looking at was Hope Homes, looks like its about 7-800p/nite with motorbike. Must be a little way from the beach but a bike would more than make up for it. Anyone know anything about those 2 places? Any and all recommendation’s welcome! I'm leaving tonite....way excited now!8
3 or 4 days in Panglao / Bohol is one of my top recommendations for things to do in the Philippines. The area is relatively easy to get to and there are plenty of activites.Alona Beach is great, with a nice selection of restaurants and a few relaxed bars. Island hopping and scuba diving trips are easy to organise and good fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Countryside Tour", comprising the Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, Loboc River Cruise, etc.
Maybe the OP is advertising, but the fact remains that Bohol / Panglao is a great palce to visit. In fact, some friends are there right now!
